This edition of Art & Fashion bring us to Barneys New York in Beverly Hills…. for the “HOLA” Shopping Event. Last week…. Barneys celebrated the Beverly Hills stores 20th anniversary by honoring HOLA” (Heart of Los Angeles), an organization that provides underprivileged children with exceptional after school programs and gives some of the cities most vulnerable youth a chance to succeed at life. With the unveiling of extensive renovations and the opening of the new Freds restaurant…. over 1000 guests came out to celebrate, shop and support HOLA. Rather than a traditional raffle… shoppers were able to purchase keys for a chance to open lucite boxes that contained a variety of luxurious items including… but not limited to…. Irene Neuwirth diamond drop earings, his and hers Brera watches, an Isaia made to order suit, a Fendi limited edition purse and a Band of Outsiders deluxe tie package.
Now this is where it got really fun!! Famed artist, Rob Pruitt…. set up shop on the 3rd floor inside his own lucite box, where he proceeded to spray paint purchased white J Brand jeans. Each pair of jeans became an original piece of artwork created on the spot… by Rob Pruitt. We spoke at length to decide which colors would be used and then Mr. Pruitt went to town on my J Brands! It was a magnificent evening and a most wonderful way to celebrate HOLA and Barneys. Thank you Rob Pruitt for my amazing J Brands…. and I promise to frame them now that they have been photographed!! Thank you Barneys NY and Barbara G for hosting what will go down as one the funnest shopping events I have ever been to!
