Laura-Dunn-Christmas-present-Give-Back-Help-Haiti-hungry-children-charity-gifts-holiday-Simbi-Paula-ColesHo Ho Haiti!!

We are not your typical “Gift Guide” kinda gals over here at lauradunn.com. While we love, adore and so appreciate all the gift guides out there…. we would much rather highlight a way to give… and then give again! Hence the “Gifts that GiveBack!” Today we are featuring a couple of beautiful items that will help you give twice, and what better (in the spirit of Christmas) is it to give a Christmas gift to a loved one, friend, teacher, mentor, employee etc…. than a gift that will help others in need. Paula Coles & Simbi Haiti can help us do just that. Paula’s mission is to help provide education and a promise of a brighter future for thousands of underprivileged children in Haiti all while helping our planet at the same time. Using 100% recycled fabrics and scraps from t-shirt manufacturing in Haiti…. each and everyone one of Paula Coles products are a unique work of art… each a promise to care. Each product is assigned a specific agenda specifically associated to the following: Tuition Fees, Books, School Supplies, Uniforms and Computer Classes. Working with PRODEV, an NGO that strives to offer the most innovative and top notch education in Haiti. Their moto: 100% Fashion that Cares.

Laura Dunn help haiti christmas

Along with Paula Cole we have two fun little gifts from Simbi… a handcrafted fashion and accessory line that is helping purify water and transforming the every day lives of Haitian people. At Simbi…. everything from handmade manufacturing… to sales is done in Haiti. In the heart of Haitian mountains, Simbi Clay was born. Using one of the few natural resources available…. Simbi Clay is ecofriendly and all the clay beads in our gorgeous gold bracelet are biodegradable, making each bracelet one of a kind and so beautifully unique. Unisex, each bracelet provides 15 sustainable jobs along with clean water to the people of Haiti. 50% of the population of Haiti has NO access to clean water. Simbi works with Aqua Haiti, a non-profit based in Port-au-Price to help create, support and finance installation of water purification systems throughout the country.

Throw in some hair-ties to that Christmas stocking and you have just helped purify a gallon of water.

Legend has it that a lost clay bead is good luck to the wearer……
